The high-level Rural Policy Forum took place from 27 to 29 September in Sigüenza (Spain) and SustaiNext project was present through the figure of our project coordinator, Natac.
Organized by the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission with the European Rural Pact Support Office, the High-level Rural Policy Forum offered a bold opportunity to gather key political actors to advance the agenda to unlock the potential of rural areas.
The Forum gathered more than 200 participants, targeting primarily policymakers and public authorities at EU and national levels from all 27 Member States involved in the management of EU funds, covering notably EU common agricultural and cohesion policies.
Our colleague Alba Ramos, project manager at Natac and coordinator at the SustaiNext project, took the floor during the session entitled ‘Strengthening rural areas contribution to food systems and the bioeconomy’, where she had the chance to present SustaiNext as the first flagship project funded by Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) meant to revolutionize the European botanical extracts industry.
This was the debut of SustaiNext project in an event of such political and economic relevance.
