SUSTAINEXT, THE CONSOLIDATION OF A CIRCULAR BIOECONOMY MODEL FOR THE OLIVE TREE VALORISATION

Mercacei, a magazine specialising in the olive oil sector, has published a report on the flagship plant of the SustaiNext project currently under construction in Hervás (Spain), which will be the most modern and sustainable botanical extract plant in the world.

The article explains how the new plant will enable the continuous production of functional extracts, under strict criteria of sustainability, traceability and efficiency.

‘We are developing innovative ingredients with real applications in sectors such as food, pet and livestock feed, cosmetics and nutraceuticals, now from a clearly industrial perspective.’ Representatives from Natac, the project coordinator, state that SustaiNext represents ‘the consolidation of a circular bioeconomy model in which the valorisation of the olive tree takes a firm step towards its full integration into sustainable value chains.’
