On 5 June 2026, the SustaiNext project was highlighted during the V Conecta Empleo Forum, held within the framework of JATO 2026 in Cáceres, an event dedicated to showcasing talent, employment opportunities and successful initiatives across the Province of Cáceres.

Representing Natac, Alba María Ramos Pineda, Project Manager and coordinator of the SustaiNext project, participated in a panel of success stories where the company was presented as a leading biotechnology actor in the region. The discussion focused on how innovation, sustainability and natural ingredient-based solutions can contribute to economic growth and industrial development in Extremadura.

As part of the presentation, Alba highlighted the role of SustaiNext, the CBE JU flagship project developing an innovative multiproduct biorefinery in Hervás. The project aims to transform agricultural biomass and side streams into high-value plant-based extracts and functional ingredients through a circular and resource-efficient approach.

Beyond its technological ambition, SustaiNext is expected to contribute to the creation of skilled employment opportunities and new economic activity in the region, demonstrating how bio-based innovation can support sustainable development in rural territories.

In addition to participating in the forum, Alba Ramos Pineda was interviewed by the regional radio programme El Sol Sale por el Oeste (Canal Extremadura), where she shared insights into the project’s objectives, progress and expected impact on the regional innovation ecosystem: https://www.canalextremadura.app/videos/371699-el-sol-sale-por-el-oeste-3h-05062026 (from 29 minutes).

SustaiNext’s participation in JATO 2026 reflects the project’s commitment not only to advancing sustainable industrial solutions, but also to fostering local development, employment and the transition towards a competitive and resilient biocircular economy.
